GLENDALE, AZ 85306

Before Dr. Shaw ever set foot in a medical school, she was running calls as a volunteer paramedic with the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad and teaching math and science to middle schoolers. Both roles shaped the physician she would become: someone who stays calm under pressure and knows how to explain complicated things in plain language. She studied mathematics and biology at Mary Washington College, earned her MD from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and completed her OB/GYN residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident. Her research on thrombophilia-related pregnancy loss and paternal ethnicity as a preeclampsia risk factor has been published in two of the field's leading journals. In Arizona, Dr. Shaw has become a physician leader, steadily taking on roles that let her improve care not just for her own patients but across entire hospital systems. In January 2026, she began a two-year term as Chief of Staff at Banner Ironwood Medical Center, and she chairs MomDoc's Quality Assurance Committee. Through it all, she remains a clinician first, still energized by the daily work of guiding women through pregnancy and gynecologic care.

CASA GRANDE, AZ 85122

Dr. LaShonda Carlton took the long way to medicine, and her patients are better for it. Raised in Detroit, she earned her chemical engineering degree from the University of Michigan and spent several years in the corporate world at Hercules Inc. and Pfizer. But something was missing. The precision and problem-solving that made her a strong engineer kept pulling her toward a different kind of challenge, one with higher personal stakes. She enrolled at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and once she arrived, she leaned all the way in, publishing research on liver ischemia and reperfusion, traveling to Peru to assist with cleft lip and palate surgeries, and serving on the Dean's Diversity Advisory Committee. She completed her OB/GYN residency training across two programs, at the University of Kentucky and at Rutgers in New Jersey. Dr. Carlton's engineering background is not just a fun origin story. It shaped how she approaches patient care: methodical, thorough, always looking at the full picture. At MomDoc's Chandler office, she brings that analytical rigor together with the empathy of someone who understands what it means to reinvent yourself, and who believes every woman deserves a physician willing to think deeply about her care.

PHOENIX, AZ 85037

Dr. Boyce's path to medicine began far from the Chicago hospitals where he would eventually train. Born and raised in the Republic of Panama, he came to the United States for his education and never looked back, though the journey took him to more places than most physicians see in a career. After medical school at the University of Illinois and residency rotations at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago and Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Dr. Boyce took a turn that set him apart: he joined the U.S. Air Force. Stationed at Loring Air Force Base in Maine, he served as Chief of OB/GYN Service at the 42nd Strategic Hospital, caring for military families in one of the most remote posts in the country. That experience, delivering babies in a setting where resourcefulness mattered as much as technique, left a lasting mark on his practice style. After his military years, Dr. Boyce built a private practice in Wisconsin before relocating to Arizona, where he co-founded Westridge OB/GYN. He has also carried his skills abroad, providing surgical care on medical missions in Peru. Dr. Boyce first worked with MomDoc in 2013, stepped away for a time, and returned with the conviction that he still has more to give.

MARICOPA, AZ 85139

Dr. Cordeiro grew up in Catalao, a small town in the Brazilian state of Goias, before her family moved to Atlanta when she was twelve. Navigating a new country and a new language at that age shaped something that still defines her practice today: an instinct for meeting patients where they are, no matter the barrier. She studied biology at Kennesaw State University, then traded Georgia for the Caribbean, attending medical school at St. George's University in Grenada, where the island setting belied the rigor of the program. After earning her degree with high honors, Dr. Cordeiro returned stateside for residency at Staten Island University Hospital in New York, where she trained in robotic, laparoscopic, and vNOTES surgical techniques and conducted research on induction of labor outcomes. Dr. Cordeiro is drawn to the full continuum of women's health, from contraception and fertility counseling to menopause management, and she brings particular skill in minimally invasive approaches to gynecologic surgery. She cares for patients in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French, a reflection of the multicultural journey that brought her to medicine in the first place.

Dr. Mily Nieves's path to women's health took her across three countries and two languages. She studied biology at the University of Puerto Rico before heading to Guadalajara, Mexico, where she earned her medical degree from the Autonomous University. That cross-cultural training shaped her approach to bilingual care over her 26-year career, meeting patients where they are, in every language and in every sense. Dr. Nieves completed her OB/GYN residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, then made her way to Arizona to join MomDoc. She brings a breadth of perspective that comes from learning medicine in different healthcare systems, and her patients appreciate the thoughtful, warm, and unhurried way she connects with them.

Dr. Andino grew up in Naranjito, a small mountain town in the Puerto Rican countryside, where the pace of life was slow but his curiosity was anything but. As an undergraduate at the University of Puerto Rico, he dove into research on treatments for congenital myasthenic syndrome, early evidence of a mind drawn to solving problems at the molecular level. Medical school took him to the Caribbean island of St. Kitts, and a graduate certificate in public health broadened his lens beyond the exam room. But it was residency at Saint Luke's Episcopal Medical Center in Ponce that sharpened his clinical identity. There, Dr. Andino gravitated toward minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and robotics, served on the surgery committee, and coordinated the obstetric emergencies simulation workshop, equal parts technician and teacher. His research spans cervical ripening, induction of labor, and the management of severe preeclampsia, reflecting an interest in the moments when obstetric care demands both precision and calm. Dr. Andino is bilingual in English and Spanish, and he brings to every patient encounter the same quality he credits to his upbringing in Naranjito: the belief that good care starts with really knowing the people you serve.

Dr. Partridge grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and studied zoology, chemistry, and Spanish at Brigham Young University before earning his medical degree from the University of Colorado. He has been part of more than 20,000 pregnancies over the course of his career, a number that speaks less to statistics and more to the thousands of families who trusted him with one of the most important moments of their lives. That kind of sustained dedication earned him the respect of his peers, and in 2002 he was elected Chief of Staff at Chandler Regional Hospital, one of only two OB/GYN physicians to serve in that role. Now focused on gynecologic care at MomDoc's Chandler office, Dr. Partridge brings decades of clinical wisdom and the steady presence of a physician who has truly seen it all.

TEMPE, AZ 85281

Dr. DeRusso did not take the most direct path to OB/GYN, and that is exactly what makes her the provider she is. After earning dual degrees in biology and psychology at Gonzaga University, she moved to Bozeman, Montana, where she spent years as an Associate Director of Clinical Studies at BioScience Laboratories. Leading antimicrobial research teams and presenting to institutional review boards taught her something medical school alone cannot: how to think like a scientist and communicate like a collaborator. When she decided to pursue medicine, Dr. DeRusso was selected as one of the top two osteopathic candidates from Montana for the competitive WICHE exchange program, bringing her to Midwestern University in Arizona. Residency at Richmond University Medical Center on Staten Island followed, where she served as Chief of Quality and sought out advanced training in gynecologic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. That combination, research rigor, quality leadership, and subspecialty exposure at one of the country's leading cancer centers, gives Dr. DeRusso a clinical perspective that is both thorough and grounded. She is the kind of physician who wants to understand the whole picture before making a recommendation, and her patients can feel the difference.

GILBERT, AZ 85295

Dr. Williams grew up in Philadelphia and has lived most of her adult life in the South. A lifetime runner, she headed to the University of Alabama on a Track and Field scholarship to study microbiology, then earned her medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where she served on the Admissions Committee and the UVA Honors Committee. She completed her OB/GYN residency at UVA, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. Running has been a constant thread through her life, she has finished both the Boston and New York marathons and is married to an Olympic Gold Medalist from the 1976 Montreal relay. Music runs deep, too: her father is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, her brother DJ'd with Will Smith back in Philadelphia, and her son is a director at Capitol Records. Alabama football, she will tell you, is a true addiction. Roll Tide. Dr. Williams brings that same energy to her community work, volunteering at the Open Door Clinic, coaching with Track Xplosion, and serving on the board of The Healing Place. At MomDoc's Power office, she is the rare physician whose life outside medicine is as full-throttle as her life inside it, and her patients feel that vitality in every visit.

GLENDALE, AZ 85308

Dr. Sta. Maria's path to medicine started in the research lab. As an undergraduate at SUNY Stony Brook, she fell in love with the precision of biochemistry, but it was the human side of science that ultimately called her to clinical work. She headed to New York University School of Medicine, then completed her OB/GYN training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she was named Chief Resident. After more than two decades practicing in Arizona, Dr. Sta. Maria has built a reputation as a physician who takes time to listen, tailoring her approach to each patient rather than defaulting to a one-size-fits-all plan. She describes herself as someone who finds deep satisfaction in the full spectrum of women's health, from guiding a first-time mother through pregnancy to helping a patient navigate complex gynecologic care.

Dr. DiGiacomo grew up in Gallup, New Mexico, where the landscape was big but the town was small, the kind of place where you know your neighbors and your doctors by name. She studied Spanish at Trinity University in San Antonio before finding her way to medicine through a post-baccalaureate program at the University of New Mexico. That bilingual foundation would prove just as important as any clinical rotation; today she cares for patients in both English and Spanish, bridging a gap that too many women in the Valley still face. During residency in Tulsa, Dr. DiGiacomo discovered her love for minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and earned recognition for both her surgical skill and her dedication to teaching. She describes herself as a true generalist at heart, equally at home in the delivery room and the operating suite. When it came time to choose where to build a career, Arizona called her back, this time to the East Valley, closer to the family roots that have always grounded her.

CHANDLER, AZ 85224

Emily grew up in Mesa watching her mother work as a labor and delivery nurse, and the pull toward women's health was there long before she had a name for it. She started her own path at Arizona State University with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, then worked as a medical scribe in a Scottsdale emergency department and as a newborn hearing screener at Banner Gateway, each role bringing her closer to the clinical career she wanted. PA school took her to Hofstra University in New York, where she earned a National Health Service Corps Scholarship and rotated through OB/GYN at Mount Sinai South Nassau, emergency medicine at NYU Langone, and surgery at Northwell Health. Those experiences confirmed what growing up around her mom's work had already taught her: that the moments surrounding birth and women's health are some of the most meaningful in medicine. Now back home in Arizona, Emily brings East Coast training and a hometown connection to her patients at MomDoc.

GILBERT, AZ 85295

Jamie was born and raised in Las Vegas, and her motto, "what you do is less important than who you do it with," says a lot about the way she practices. Women's health runs in the family: her grandfather was an OB/GYN, and multiple family members work in the field. She earned her degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University and completed her PA training at Idaho State University, where her thesis focused on ectopic pregnancy. During her OB/GYN rotation, she dove in headfirst, performing dozens of gynecological exams, attending more than seventy prenatal visits, and assisting in deliveries and laparoscopic surgeries. That rotation confirmed what she had felt since growing up around family conversations about women's health: this was her field. Jamie brings warmth, clinical confidence, and a family legacy of caring for women to MomDoc's Mercy Gilbert office.

Keli grew up in Los Gatos, a small town in Northern California's Bay Area. She left home when she enlisted in the Air Force and spent ten years as an avionics technician, repairing F-16s and F-111s in England, Korea, and Las Vegas. It was in Korea that she met her husband through a running club called the Hash Hound Harriers, they have been together 25 years now. After the military, Keli's career took another turn. She earned her nursing degree and gained extensive labor and delivery experience as an RN at hospitals across Arizona, including Banner Ironwood, Phoenix Baptist, Chandler Regional, Saint Joseph's, and Banner Gateway. It was at Phoenix Baptist that a group of midwives she worked alongside encouraged her to take the next step. She earned her midwifery degree from Frontier Nursing University in 2013 and later completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Duke University. Keli brings a special focus to perinatal loss and bereavement support, natural childbirth, and Centering Pregnancy group prenatal care, the kind of work that asks a provider to be both clinically skilled and deeply present, something her unusual journey from fighter jets to the birth room uniquely prepared her for.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ 85251

Before Lindsey ever set foot in a clinical rotation, she spent her days as a habilitation therapist working one-on-one with a young child with autism. That experience, learning to meet a patient exactly where they are, with patience and creativity, shaped the kind of provider she would become. Lindsey studied kinesiology at Arizona State University, drawn to the science of how bodies move and heal. She carried that foundation to Loma Linda University in California, where her PA training took her through a wide sweep of specialties: emergency medicine, surgery, pediatric oncology, psychiatry, and the OB/GYN rotation that would chart her course. She found herself most at home in women's health, where the relationship between provider and patient is ongoing and deeply personal. Today, Lindsey is skilled in both the clinical and procedural sides of the practice, from well-woman care to first-assisting in laparoscopic and open surgeries. She brings a calm, thorough approach to every patient encounter, the kind of presence that makes even a routine appointment feel unhurried.

CHANDLER, AZ 85224

Lisa started her nursing career at the tiniest scale imaginable, the neonatal intensive care unit. At Phoenix Children's Hospital, she cared for critically ill newborns, including high-frequency ventilation patients and babies weighing under 1,000 grams, and attended high-risk deliveries to perform neonatal resuscitation. She had earlier gained experience in labor and delivery and medical telemetry at Tucson Medical Center, but it was the NICU that changed her trajectory. Working so closely with fragile newborns gave Lisa an urgent clarity: she wanted to reach women earlier, during pregnancy, when education and attentive care can alter outcomes before a baby ever arrives. That conviction sent her back to school at the University of Cincinnati, where she earned her master's in women's health nursing. Today, she brings a perspective shaped by the delivery room and the NICU, a provider who knows firsthand what is at stake and channels that knowledge into the kind of prenatal and well-woman care that helps patients feel informed, prepared, and supported.

Liz grew up in Boise, Idaho, and made her way to Utah for her undergraduate years at BYU, where she studied public health and discovered a love for the intersection of patient education and hands-on care. Before PA school, she worked as a Medical Assistant and eventually Lead Medical Assistant at a family medicine clinic, and she served as an Anatomy Lab Teaching Assistant at BYU. Those experiences confirmed what she already suspected: she wanted to be in the room with patients, not behind a desk. Liz completed her PA training at Midwestern University in Glendale, rotating through specialties ranging from emergency medicine to maternal-fetal medicine. It was her women's health rotations that sealed the deal. She was drawn to the way OB/GYN care lets her walk alongside women through every stage of life, from first prenatal visits to well-woman care and everything in between.

Luba's career in women's health began an ocean away. She trained across some of England's most respected hospitals, orthopedic nursing at the Nuffield Centre in Oxford, her registered nurse qualification at the Royal Free in London, and her midwifery certification at Northwick Park in Middlesex. Each stop added a new dimension to her clinical skill, but it was midwifery that captured her fully. In the early 1980s, Luba made the leap to Arizona and earned her American certification through the College of Nurse-Midwives. More than three decades later, she has built a practice that spans the full arc of women's health, from prenatal care and family planning to hormone therapy and menopausal management. Perhaps the best measure of Luba's impact is the loyalty she inspires. Many of her patients have followed her from practice to practice over the years, some through multiple pregnancies and into the next chapter of their health. That kind of trust is not earned with credentials alone; it comes from showing up for people consistently, year after year, and treating each visit as if it matters. Because to Luba, it does.
